What is functional fitness? Functional fitness training is an exercise philosophy based on fitness and strength through natural body movements. Instead of weights for resistance usually using your own body weight for resitance or other equipment such as kettlebells, heavy ropes, tractor tires, balance balls and stability balls. With this type of training you're developing cardio while you perform various drills and exercises. In a traditional gym the cardio part of the workout is always done via riding a bike, stair stepper or eliptical, while lifting weights develops strength.

All the top-level athletes are utilizing sports specific functional training. We believe this type of exercise is the best for developing not only strength, but for developing high levels of cardio, balance and core strength. Unless you're a bodybuilder, lifing weights in a traditional gym is not the best way to achieve optimum fitness levels today's athletes desire.

Our Pure Core boot camp program is a unique Group or Private exercise program for beginners and those already in shape. No experience is necessary. I repeat, no experience is needed, all you need is the desire to lose weight and get in shape. If you tried exercise in the past and you haven't lost weight and inches, then you either weren't working hard enough or not consistently. Or you neglected to change your eating habits. Stop trying to do it on your own--you need motivation and a coach to push you past your comfort zone.

Pure Core boot camp is a full-body, non-contact workout and is based on functional movements. We also utilize exercise drills which contain elements of jiu-jitsu, muay Thai, NatMov, and primal fitness. This class will leave you feeling invigorated and feeling great. Who knows, maybe you may even feel like a kid again. What is NatMov and the Primal Fitness movement.

 

The stresses of modern life are taking a toll on human beings. We get up and sit in traffic for hours, we work in cubicles under artificial lighting, our diets are filled with chemicals, preservatives and processed foods. Then we come home to kids sitting around the house playing video games. What happened to the days when kids spent their free time riding bikes and playing in the backyard, chasing one another over fences and and climbing trees? This type of play and movement is natural and plays a key role in our development as humans. Sitting at a desk for hours and playing video games isn't what our bodies are designed to do--no wonder why so many Americans and others around the World are sick, fat, and out of shape. No wonder why our children are getting fat too. They just copy what their parents are doing. It's incredible how people have just let themselves go.

I've seen 40-year-olds who look and move around like 60-year-olds and I have seen 60-year-olds who look and move around like 25-year-olds. Which one do you want to be? If you feel like crap then make a change and Get in Shape Now. Our classes will help you get back to being a real human again.

NatMov (Natural Movement, aka primal fitness) utilizes movements that our ancestors more than likely used in daily life. Our ancestors were hunters and gatherers. They had to hunt on a daily basis. This involved running, squatting, jumping over rocks crawling through brush, climbing over rocks and climbing through trees, etc. They threw rocks and spears as well. They had to fight for food and fight other tribes as well. This is what our bodies were made to do. Our ancestors were not sitting on the couch all day watching TV or playing video games.

We also weren't designed to eat processed and fatty foods. But that's what a lot of people do these days. Our ancestors didn't go to Burger King or Panda Express when they were hungry. They didn't grab a bag of potato chips or Oreo cookies when they were craving a snack either. Some may say that we have evolved. I disagree. If our bodies have evolved then we wouldn't be overweight and we wouldn't have a belly hanging over our belts. Our backs wouldn't hurt either and we wouldn't be sick. Our bodies have not evolved!
